Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers stopped 29 firearms at Wisconsin airports in 2024, a decrease compared to 2023. According to a release, Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) detected 16 firearms,

When a firearm is detected at a security checkpoint, TSA officers immediately contact local law enforcement, who remove the passenger and the firearm from the checkpoint area. Law enforcement may arrest or cite the passenger depending on local laws.
