During a stop at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Gov. Ron DeSantis proposed a list of statewide immigration measures ahead of a special session.

Trump, who endorsed the Governor’s call for a Special Session, told DeSantis he got elected to “solve” the “immigration issue,” and DeSantis said Florida is “ready, willing and able to assist” with his Special Session called for the last week of January offering a timely opportunity.

Ron DeSantis doubled down on his push for the state to pass new laws to fight illegal immigration, even as Republican legislative leaders are reticent to do anything until the regular session that begins in March.
