The Hurst Fire burned nearly 800 acres when it sparked Jan. 7. It did not destroy any structures or result in any deaths.

"The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and SCE continues to cooperate with authorities," the utility agency wrote.

Southern California Edison says that its equipment likely sparked a wildfire in Sylmar that broke out the same day as two massive blazes in the area killed at least 29 people and destroyed thousands of homes.
