The ocean water along roughly eight miles of prime Los Angeles coastline remained off-limits indefinitely due to the recent rains and fire debris.

The ocean water remained off-limits Thursday at beaches stretching from Malibu to Santa Monica due to the recent rains and fire debris carried to the coast, while a water quality advisory was in effect for all beaches as far south as Playa del Rey.

The recent rainfall and increased debris from fire zone areas have prompted Los Angeles County public health officials to issue an advisory and close several miles of Los Angeles County's coastline, from Malibu to Playa del Rey.
