Ian Jackson had 20 points and seven rebounds, his sixth 20-point game in the last seven games, to lead the North Carolina Tar Heels to a resounding 79-53 Atlantic Coast Conference win over the California Golden Bears on Wednesday in Chapel Hill,

North Carolina got off to a slow start the season, struggling to pick up big wins in the non-conference portion of the schedule. Among many issues they have overcome, the growing pains of five-star freshmen Ian Jackson and Drake Powell played a role.

Reflecting on his time as a player at North Carolina, as an assistant coach on the Tar Heels staff and now as the program's head coach, Hubert Davis said he has not been around a player who can score as easily and efficiently as Ian Jackson.
