There was a fire outside the Etihad Stadium, ahead of the Champions League clash between Manchester City and Club Brugge on Wednesday night. The fire started near the main entrance, as City’s new women’s players were being presented on a stage.

Hundreds of fans were moved as an area close to the ground’s main reception was evacuated when flames engulfed a merchandise stall around two hours before kick-off.
