Griner entered the offseason as the second-longest tenured WNBA player with one team, having spent her entire career in Phoenix.
The WNBA landscape was shaken up Tuesday. First, the Phoenix Mercury traded for Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas. Then, longtime Mercury star center Brittney Griner decided to leave Phoenix after 11 seasons to join the Atlanta Dream.
Brittney Griner is testing the free agent market for the first time in her career. The All-Star center is taking meetings starting Tuesday with multiple teams, according to her agent. WNBA executives were in Miami for the opening of Unrivaled to talk with Griner and other free agents.

Ten-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner has confirmed in an Instagram post that she is joining the Atlanta Dream as a free agent. Earlier Tuesday, both ESPN and the Associated Press reported Griner agreed to a one-year deal with the Dream, citing undisclosed sources. Free-agent contracts cannot be signed until Saturday however.
