Capital 1 direct deposit issue hits thousands of customers
A Capital One outage caused by a third-party vendor disrupted transactions and deposits, prompting frustrated customers to voice grievances and share viral memes on social media.

Capital One users were reporting issues with receiving their deposits on Thursday morning, leaving many customers wondering where their money and paychecks are. Complaints on social media were pouring in via the @AskCapitalOne customer service account on X,
According to Capital One, the disruption began on Wednesday and is due to a technical issue with one of its service providers. The outage has impacted the processing of some deposits, payments and transfers. Customers began reporting deposit-related issues -related issues on Thursday, according to Down Detector.
On Thursday, Capital One revealed that it was facing technical difficulties that could hinder customers' access to its digital platforms. Many customers have reported issues viewing their deposits, which can be very nerve-wracking when provided with very little information about the status of the outage.
The bank said in a statement to CNN that a "technical issue experienced by a third-party vendor" has "temporarily impacted" some of Capital One's services, including payment processing, deposits and its consumer, small business and commercial banks.
Capital One’s outage comes just a day after Citibank admitted that its own tech issues were keeping cusotmers from accessing their accounts from their mobile devices. Citibank also revealed that incorrect fraud alerts had been placed on customers’ cards, and that the bank was working to clear up the problem.
Technical issues at Capital One are causing problems with accounts, deposits and payment processing.
Thousands of users have reported their problems on outage monitoring website Downdetector. According to CNN, when you open the Capital One app, you're faced with a message saying it's "currently experiencing technical issues" and that it’s "working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."
Problems with a third-party vendor that Capital One uses are affecting some bank customers’ ability to access money online and igniting anger on social media.
