The New England Patriots are assembling a robust coaching staff for 2025 and beyond. New England's most recent coaching acquisition: the man who took over as Chicago Bears interim head coach following the November firing of Matt Eberflus.

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to hire former Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus as their new defensive coordinator, a league source told UPI on Monday.

Once former Bears coach Matt Eberflus became Cowboys coach it seemed inevitable some Chicago assistants would follow their old boss to the Big D and two have.

Matt Eberflus was identified as the top candidate for the Cowboys' defensive coordinator position before the team officially hired Brian Schottenheimer as their head coach and Eberflus is now part of the organization as well.

Serving as Cowboys offensive coordinator the last two seaosns, Schottenheimer brings 25 years of NFL coaching experience to the job.

The Cowboys announced three additions to their coaching staff on Wednesday afternoon. In addition to confirming the previously reported move to hire Aaron Whitecotton as their defensive line coach, the team also announced that Dave Borgonzi will be their linebackers coach and that Andre Curtis will serve as their defensive passing game coordinator.
