With the trade deadline looming, De'Aaron Fox could be back on the trading block after a season of speculation.
The Sacramento Kings got back on the winning track Monday in Brooklyn, avoiding their third straight loss against the lowly Nets and getting De’Aaron Fox to snap out of his recent slump.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported the Kings are expected to open talks for All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox ahead of the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline. The San Antonio Spurs have been rumored as a preferred destination for Fox with significant mutual interest from both sides, according to Forbes NBA reporter Evan Sidery.
De'Aaron Fox reportedly hitting the open market opens up significant opportunities for several blockbuster deals to close before the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline.
De’Aaron Fox could soon find himself playing for another team for the first time in his eight-year NBA career.
De'Aaron Fox scored 16 of his 30 points in the third quarter Monday night as the Sacramento Kings erased a nine-point deficit and pulled away down the stretch for a 110-96 victory over the Brooklyn Nets in New York.
Domantas Sabonis had 21 points, 22 rebounds and 10 assists in his seventh triple-double of the season, De’Aaron Fox scored 30 points and the Sacramento Kings beat the Brooklyn Nets 110-93 on Monday night.
Outside of the off-court noise, the Kings are still a very capable team. Domantas Sabonis remains one of the best bigs in the NBA, and will have plenty of room and size to work with against the short (handed) Sixers. Outside of the Fox-Sabonis duo, they have plenty of scoring options with DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk and Keegan Murray.

According to Bovada, the Pelicans have the eighth-best odds (+1400) to land Fox from the Kings via trade. The Miami Heat are the favorite (+450) to land him followed by the San Antonio Spurs (+500) and Minnesota Timberwolves (+500).
Assuming the Kings don't get an All-Star-level player in return for Fox, their current roster construction could begin to tumble. The Kings are built around Fox's speed and the playmaking ability of Domantas Sabonis. Without Fox pushing the tempo, the Kings rotation could quickly falter.
