Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen has pulled out of the running for the Jaguars coaching job, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday, with former Jets coach Robert Saleh now one of two remaining candidates who has been scheduled for a second interview.
It’s a wild turn that suddenly put Saleh in a position where he’s unlikely to land a head coaching job. For the entire process the 49ers have essentially been banking on Saleh not getting a lead job anywhere and re-joining San Francisco as their defensive coordinator.
The hits keep coming for the San Francisco 49ers in 2025 as they try to lure Robert Saleh back to the Bay Area.
“Cowboys now have completed an in-person interview with former Jets HC Robert Saleh for their head coaching position,” ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Saturday. The team conducted a virtual interview with its former offensive coordinator, current Philadelphia Eagles OC Kellen Moore, on Friday.

On Monday night, just hours after McCarthy's exit was made official, ESPN's NFL Insider, Adam Schefter reported that Sanders had spoken to Jones. Schefter also reported a quote from Sanders who considers the opportunity amazing but is currently satisfied coaching in Boulder.
