A Maine man was identified Tuesday as the driver who died in a three-car crash on Interstate 95 south in Portsmouth, N.H. that also injured two women, including one from Massachusetts, authorities said.

One person was killed and two others were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth on Monday night.Police responded to the scene around 6:40 p.m. after receiving a report of a smoking vehicle stopped in the middle lane of I-95 southbound near mile marker 13.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but officials say one driver stopped his vehicle in a travel lane on the interstate.
