Former South Carolina quarterback Tanner Bailey is headed to Auburn. Bailey, a three-star quarterback i n the Class of 2022, spent two seasons at South Carolina as a backup to Spencer Rattler before entering the transfer portal and later announcing his retirement last winter.

He is the second Clemson player ever to earn Freshman Player of the Year honors of any kind from the FWAA since Trevor Lawrence won the organization's inaugural award in 2018. Clemson becomes the first school ever to produce multiple FWAA Freshman Players of the Year.
