An opening drive touchdown and early lead gave Notre Dame fans a sense of false hope as the National Championship game quickly spiraled into a disaster for the Fighting Irish.

Hundreds of jovial fans and students gathered around campus after Ohio State’s 34-23 victory over Notre Dame on Monday night flocked to Ohio Stadium and broke through a gate to continue the celebration inside “The Shoe,” despite the temperature in Columbus reaching as low as -5 F.
