As the devastating wildfires continue to displace thousands of Los Angeles residents, Airbnb has pledged to offer free emergency accommodation for those affected, including survivors, evacuees, first responders,

Airbnb.org has offered free, temporary housing to people displaced by several natural disasters, including Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and the war in Ukraine. Los Angeles residents in need can request temporary housing by filling out an intake form with 211 LA.

The nonprofit arm of the home-rental marketplace reports "an absolute crush of applications" from those affected by the L.A. fires. Meanwhile, Uber is also stepping up its relief efforts.

Airbnb will work in collaboration with 211 LA to identify residents in immediate need of temporary housing and connect them to accommodations offered through Airbnb.org, the company’s non-profit arm which provides free stays through a combination of funds donated the company and the generosity of hosts on the platform who have offered up their homes for these emergency situations.
